11/25/11 - NEW AWARDS FOR LYRECO
Lyreco gets awards in Finland, Germany and Canada

Officeday is n° 1 in Finland in Office 2011 survey of Taloustutkimus for the 4th time in a row!

The Finnish market research company Taloustutkimus made in Finland an Office survey in May - June 2011. The survey is done annually and is lead independently by Taloustutkimus. The respondents are the persons who are responsible for office product purchases in their company. Officeday and Lyreco have still been evaluated separately this year.

The aim of this survey is to find out about the strengths and weaknesses of companies supplying office supplies, machines and furniture, but also about their reputation among customers : respondents evaluated the companies based on their own experience, but also on the image they have of the company.

Officeday was evaluated the best of the industry according to overall grade for the 4th time in a row, but also the best following all 9 image criteria such as:
- Price level
- Ability to deliver
- Product range
- Customer service
- Liability
- Doing business via internet
- Service concepts
- Flexibility
- Catalogues and brochures
It was also very pleasant to notice that Lyreco was evaluated the second best following those image criteria!

Lyreco in Canada gets the FSC certification

Lyreco in Canada gets FSC Forestry Chain-of-Custody Certification

In September Lyreco in Canada became the 2nd subsidiary (after Benelux) to achieve the FSC Forestry Chain-of Custody Certification. This was a collaborated effort including contributions from our Marketing, Logistics and Finance Teams. Our SGS auditor spent 3 days with us and visited 2 of our DC’s and also our Head Office. The intense preparation leading up to our audit resulted in 0 Non Conformances and praise from our auditor for the thoroughness of our new processes. We can proudly sell our FSC items as true FSC products to customers which are also FSC Chain-of-Custody certified.

More and more customers are demanding to know the origins of the products they are purchasing and the Ontario Government is a perfect example. The Ontario Government will insist that their supplier is Forestry Chain-Of-Custody Certified. This will surely set us apart from our biggest Canadian competitors who are not certified.

Marly, France, 24 March, 2011 – Yesterday in Brussels, Lyreco, a leader in the distribution of office products, rewarded its best suppliers at the 12th edition of its ‘Supplier of the Year Awards’. This event is the pinacle of a long evaluation process put in place by the Group some years ago in order to judge the marketing and logistical performance of its suppliers.

Lyreco - core values at the heart of the selection process

The Lyreco Group has always put ‘customer satisfaction’ at the heart of its strategy and as a result, expects the same level of commitment from its suppliers.

In fact, Lyreco applies its fundamental, unifying values on a daily basis – high quality products, an impeccable level of service, error-free deliveries, innovative marketing programmes, etc.

These awards represent an unrivalled opportunity to recognise suppliers for their abilities and their involvement in the Group’s development and internationalisation.

"We’re fanatical about customer service and we expect our supply partners to provide the same quality of service to Lyreco,” commented John Watson, Group Marketing Director for Lyreco.

“SPIP assessment is one of the most concrete tools in our armoury that enables us to evaluate the performance of a supplier and to identify the key and relevant areas of improvement which we can work on together," he concluded.

Methodology

This year, 85 suppliers were evaluated on the basis of seven criteria, in two different categories – marketing and logistics. These evaluations, which were identical in every country, were ratified by a jury made up of members of the Group’s marketing team.

Marketing criteria:

- Innovation(s) in marketing programmes
- Investment(s) in marketing activities
- Number of marketing accreditations
- Quality of account management

Logistics criteria:

- Quality of supplier’s service (orders delivered complete and on time)
- Clear and detailed invoicing
- Order management which matches supply and demand.

This event reinforces the Group’s business vision and consolidates its 2011 strategy which is both ‘customer’ and ‘supplier’ focused, in order to make Lyreco the international benchmark for the office products sector.

Lyreco volunteers to help Sun Youth in Montréal
150 sales people from Lyreco in Canada volunteered their time to spruce-up the Sun Youth Building in Montreal on January 13th during a teambuilding activity organised at Lyreco 2011 Sales Convention.

Lyreco teams were working hand in hand to improve the Sun Youth building. They cleaned, painted and reorganised the space in order to offer a better environment for the organisation that has been working at supporting underprivileged Montrealers since 1954 with a vast array of services. Being 90 years old, the building was starting to show signs of aging and renovation was greatly appreciated!

Everybody worked tirelessly all afternoon, doing everything from washing windows and floors to building and fixing furniture, but there was also a party atmosphere in the air. We combined fun and work with the various games and friendly competitions that had been planned for the teams throughout the day (such as hula-hoop challenges). Lyreco employees came from across Canada. They got to know each other better and very much enjoyed their afternoon of volunteer work because of the fun they had but also because they had a chance to give back to the community.

An article related to our teambuilding event was published the day after one page 2 of Le Journal de Montréal, a daily tabloid newspaper published in Montreal which is the largest-circulation French-language newspaper in North America! The news was also broadcasted on some of Canada’s main TV channels (CTV, Global New Montreal). Check the video on www.lyreco.ca

Many people will be able to benefit from the work your employees did, including many young people. In total, over 10 rooms and areas were renovated by the volunteers from Lyreco, including our Teen Lounge, Arcade Room, Ball Hockey Gymnasium, Study Hall and Staff Lounge.
We were more than happy to welcome the 150+ volunteers from Lyreco for their teambuilding activity. We were even happier to witness their efforts in improving our facilities and the results they managed to obtain in a short amount of time. On behalf of the Sun Youth staff, management and volunteers, our deepest thanks for everything you did for our organisation.
