Lyreco wins the European Office Products Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category
January, 30th 2012, more than 350 guests were present at the prestigious annual awards dinner, which is organised by OPI during Paperworld in Frankfurt.
 
The Corporate Social Responsibility award was then received by Steve Law – Lyreco CEO (see the enclosed picture).
 
The entries have been judged by a panel of office products industry executives, including 3M, Avery, Brother, Esselte, Fellowes, Pilot, Quantore and OPI.
 
The short listed companies for the award were: BIC, Esselte, Lyreco, Office Team, Staples.
 
The assessment criteria and elements taken into account by the judges were:
-      The CSR programmes, practices and policies that enhance the company as a socially and environmentally aware operation.
-      The steps taken to develop a more responsible corporate culture. This could be green initiatives, educational/motivational initiatives for staff or customers, training etc.
-      The additional schemes to improve the operational impact. For example, community initiatives, joint ventures with local governments and NGOs, etc.
-      The effective monitoring of our CSR initiatives.
 
Through its press release, OPI said “Judges praised Lyreco as a company that lives, works and breathes its approach to CSR, consistent in everything it does”.
 
This award is for sure a source of pride for all the Lyreco staffs who contribute on a daily basis to our Sustainability strategy.

Corporate Social Responsibility Award in Germany
Lyreco in Germany was awarded by the economic association Per Hannover Region (PHR). January, 27th 2012, Lyreco won a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Award supported by one of one of the German region (the Lower Saxony).
Among the key points of the Lyreco application, the following ones have been especially highlighted by PHR:
-      Our dedicated Calculator to help our customers to reduce the Environmental impacts associated to their office supplies purchases.
-      Our Social Audits achieved with suppliers.
-      Our Lyreco For Education programme, to develop the education in the developing countries.
-      Our Code of Ethics to establish ethical relationships with all our stakeholders (and especially our Employees and Suppliers).

2 new partners to support Lyreco developement
LYRECO ENTERED INTO STRATEGIC ALLIANCES
WITH INFORSHOP (BRAZIL) AND MARKEN (ARGENTINA)

Lyreco is pleased to announce the signature of two strategic alliances with Inforshop (Brazil) and Marken (Argentina), two fast-growing and leading office supplies distributors on their respective markets.
 
Founded in 1986 and based in São Paulo (Brazilian economic capital), Inforshop is among the leading office supplies distributors in Brazil. Inforshop has a turnover around BRL 200 million (€ 85 million) and has more than doubled its sales since 2008. Operating from 6 different locations, Inforshop provides a nationwide coverage to its customers and employs 280 people.
Founded in 2001, Marken is a fast-growing contract stationer in Argentinean market. Marken has a turnover around ARS 25 million (€ 4.5 million), being the Argentinean sales best-performer in its industry as its sales doubled since 2009. The company is located in Buenos Aires and has 37 employees.
